Week beginning 13th September - Buoyancy

"From the Stars to the Sea" - Buoyancy

Over the last few weeks in P6/7 we have been learning about buoyancy. We researched what buoyancy meant and then tested a number of items to see if they were buoyant.

Using this knowledge we then designed and created our own boats, ensuring they were able to float.

We then tested them in water and even attached a mini-propeller, so we could race them.

We tested all the boats, most stayed afloat luckily but not all moved very much in the water, Charlotte and Dominic won our class competition so went on to race P7B resulting in a draw. The final tiebreaker will take place at the beach later in the term!

Have a look at our pictures to see all the learning and fun happening.
