Many thanks

Mr Agnew

Welcome to Primary 1/2!

We have had a fantastic start to our new year together.  Primary 1/2 have settled in well and we are enjoying our learning.

So far....

We are focussing on MasterChef with a South African twist!

We began our learning looking at fruit and vegetables.  We have planted our carrots, tomatoes, peppers and cabbage.  We have been describing different vegetables and we have been exploring their texture and smell in our Home Corner.  We planted cress and mustard seeds this week and labelled our own work.  We have looked at animals and the land of South Africa and are going on to look at which fruits and vegetables are grown there.  With the help of our P6 and P7 buddies - who are absolutely fantastic - we are working on South African art. Mr Jon Jacobs has been working with us on South African music and hand clapping rhymes which we love!

Our Primary 1's have been learning letters and sounds and our Primary 2's have been working on spelling, reading and writing.  In our Numeracy work we have been using our 100 square in so many ways! We are learning to count forwards, backwards and starting at different numbers each time.  Our Primary 1's are mainly focussing on numbers to 20; our Primary 2's are really enjoying the challenge of numbers to 100.

We are really looking forward to soup making next week and looking at the festival of Harvest.

Many thanks to all our parents and carers for such a supportive start to the year.  Thank you for all the PE kits and the hair being tied up on Mondays and Fridays for PE with Mrs Royan.

We made some Macaroons with Mrs Patterson with a mystery ingredient.
