Miss McGlashan taught  the Gay Gordons

and Mrs Thomson showed how to make a 'I love Scotland' necklace.

We all got together in the hall at the end to show off our dancing and singing.

P2H Scotland

The children in P2H and P2/3G shared their learning at an open assembly on Friday 4th march.  The children confidently spoke about what they had found out about Eyemouth and Edinburgh as part of their learning about Scotland.  They shared some interesting facts with parents, teachers and other classes.  Miss Stewart enjoyed learning about Eyemouth and Edinburgh too and she thought the children coped very well when there was a problem with the microphone.

Riley and Madison joined three people from Mrs Girrity’s class to share our Scottish poem, “I stood upon the Hymooth Fort.” This had previously been performed by the whole class at the  end of February.

On Tuesday 8th March we walked down Coldingham Road, along Harbour Road, along the bantry and up Fort Road with the children from P2/3G and some parents. We stopped at key buildings during our walk and our teachers asked us questions about where we were standing and what we could remember.

Both classes are looking forward to their trip to Edinburgh on Wednesday 23rd March.

Fit for Fun

We have been taking part in Zumba, Boxercise and Street Dance with Imogen in the hall on a Wednesday morning.  Morgan was our star pupil for her excellent moves and listening carefully to the instructor and the music. It was great fun , Mrs Horsburgh and Miss Windram enjoyed the Fit for Fun sessions too.  We are all looking forward to Sports Relief on Friday 18th March.

P2H Scotland

The children in P2H Have enjoyed welcoming their parents in to our classroom since the week of February 22nd.  Mrs Horsburgh has had lots of positive feedback and the children have loved taking their parents on a ‘Learning  Journey for 50 minutes’.

Here are some  photographs of Cassie, Matthew and Morgan with their Mums.

Both classes are looking forward to their trip to Edinburgh on Wednesday 23rd March.

World Book Day

The class paired up with P6/7 and Miss Warne to take part in two exciting activities.  Mrs Horsburgh read one of her favourite stories, ‘Aliens Love Underpants ‘ and the children worked with their  P6 reading buddy and the P7s to complete some exciting activities on the book.

In the afternoon Miss Warne showed the children a clip of one of the Mr Men stories.  The children worked with a partner to create their own Mr Man or Little Miss characters. It was a fantastic activity and they followed up on Thursday 10th March by sharing their characters and stories.
